About Us

Whimsical Dream Events started from a love for baking and crafting that two little girls once shared only with their families. Growing up in the same neighborhood, they’ve shared creative ideas, projects, and crazy baking recipes, keeping them up during wee hours of the night baking and crafting. It’s not often that you meet two girls with so much heart and desire in what they do.

Vicki and Janet saw a glimpse of their commonality in enjoying the art of event planning when Vicki’s daughter, Mikayla, was born in 2006. The two began creating themed birthday parties annually for her, incorporating fun elements geared towards children and adults alike. When her son, Joshua, was born in 2008, it gave them another reason to put their creative minds to work. Their compatibility was put to the full test when it came time to plan Janet’s wedding. In between all the personal events they put together, the two fell in love with all the details involved in event planning.

In 2010, the two decided to put what they love and enjoy into reality, creating and establishing Whimsical Dream Events. Similar to their own visions, they want to provide their clients with a stress free event of their dreams!

Vicki graduated from San Francisco State University with a Multiple Subject teaching credential.  With her experience in teaching kids from preschool through 6th grade, she brings knowledge of age-appropriate ideas to the duo. It seemed right to start a business of event planning, since her daughter was the reason she delved into party planning 5 years ago. She designed and created her birth announcement, party invitations, party favors, decorations, and the list goes on. When her son was born, and she was able to do more of what she loved, she knew she had found her calling as an event planner. Since then, her life has been a whirl of baking, crafting, and hosting elaborate parties. Vicki spends her free time with her loving husband and her daughter (4) and son (2).

Starting at a young age, Janet has always been the planner for all family gatherings – from vacations to parties, she was somehow involved. Once a budget was set, she just ran with it, nothing was ever impossible in her eyes. From birthday parties to now weddings and baby showers, she has never been one to say no when love ones needed help to plan their events. Her passion has taken her to work in Organizational Development, helping companies develop and recognize their employees. She has over 5 years of experience in planning and organizing corporate parties and events as well as coordinating weddings on the side. She shares a strong love for food and sweets, especially cupcakes, and has traveled the world on food expeditions. When she is not planning events, she is finding her next food adventure in San Francisco with her husband, Yoshi.
